PBU Snags First CSAC Win of Season

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA -
It might have taken the women's basketball team a little longer than they had initially hoped, but the Crimson Eagles managed something Thursday evening that they hadn't achieved this year to date: a conference victory.

Fate finally turned in favor of PBU Thursday night when the group bullied past the College of Notre Dame in convincing fashion, skirting past the visitors by a 56-36 margin.

Using swarming, high pressure defense, PBU forced the Gators into 32 turnovers for the contest as Notre Dame coughed up the basketball on over 40 percent of their possessions. The Crimson Eagles turned the visitor slip-ups into a 24-6 margin in points off TO's for the outing while allowing just a single double-figure scorer for Notre Dame in the win.

Limiting the Gators to 24 percent shooting and just six total first half field goals, PBU manufactured a 29-17 margin by the intermission and blew things open early in the second half, outscoring their counterpart 27-19 over the final 20 minutes.

The Crimson Eagles were impressive on the offensive glass collecting 16 boards from their own misses, converting their second chance opportunities into 10 points for the game.

For the first time this year, four different players logged double-digit points, led by Sara Poole's team high 13. Careth Herron added 11 points to go with nine boards, and Lisa Garner added a 12 point, seven board effort. Hannah McCardle chipped in with 10 and 7, respectively.

The Crimson Eagles will look to build on their moment this Saturday during a meeting with Immaculata University at 1:00 pm.
