Tennis Team Collects Fourth Win of Season

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA
- Following Saturday's outing, the tennis team can boast of a feat that hasn't been accomplished in over five years.

They've surpassed the three win barrier.

The Crimson Eagles picked up their fourth win of the season Saturday afternoon, gliding past the College of Notre Dame by an 8-1 margin.

Although the contest was significant regarding the team's total number of victories on the year, perhaps more important is the fact that it helped the group to their second conference triumph of the season.

Ironically, PBU's only loss of the day came from their number one singles player, Katelynn Wilson, marking her first defeat of the season. Wilson had gone a perfect 8-0 in the top slot heading into Saturday's affair but was upset 7-5, 6-2 to the Gators' ace, Kelcy Bye.

Liz Stafford defeated Madeline Foster 6-2, 6-2 in the second position and Amanda Treacy somehow pulled out a grueling 6-3, 6-7 (7-2), 10-6 victory over her counterpart in the third slot. Rebecaa Hardman triumphed 6-2, 6-3 and Tara Munro added a 6-4, 6-3 victory. Dana Hartman rounded out the final singles spot, coming out victorious by a 6-0, 6-1 margin.

In doubles action, Wilson teamed with Stafford to win 8-5 while Brealyn Stillman and Treacy managed an 8-4 victory. Hartman and Meghan Whittington collected an 8-1 triumph in the third doubles position.

The Crimson Eagles move to 4-5 on the year with the win while Notre Dame falls to 1-4.

The tennis team will return to the court on Wednesday, hosting Neumann University at 4:00 pm.
