Baptist Bible Tiptoes Past Tennis Squad

Box Score

CLARKS SUMMIT, PA - As the Crimson Eagles can tell you following Saturday's contest with Baptist Bible College, it's difficult to beat a rival  twice within a 10 day span.

After smoking the Defenders back on September 1st during the season opener, 7-2, the Crimson Eagles came out on the opposite end during their most recent affair on Saturday, falling to their counterpart 5-4.

It was a disappointing loss for the crimson and black as Saturday's tilt in Clarks Summit signaled PBU's first official CSAC contest of the year.

PBU began Saturday in a significant hole. The Crimson Eagles were swept handily in doubles action, falling in all three matches to go down 3-0.

Looking to make a comeback during singles play, PBU secured wins in four out of six matches, but the deficit proved too big an obstacle to overcome as Baptist Bible held on for their third consecutive triumph.

Katelyn Wilson, Rebecca Hardman, Tara Munro, and Dana Hartman all pumped out victories during solos play.

"Our freshman came through for us again and I thought Tara Munro played another outstanding match," Wilson praised when it was all said and done. "There's no doubt about it - it's a tough loss for us to swallow, we've just got to continue to go out and play with heart."

The Crimson Eagles slip to 2-2 on the season while the Defenders improve to 3-1.

"We'll get some more wins under out belt," Wilson continued. "And I'm confident we'll continue to improve as the year goes on."

PBU will look to bounce back next Wednesday when the group hosts Cedar Crest College in Langhorne, Match time is 4:00 pm.
