GWYNEDD-VALLEY, PA - Gwynedd-Mercy College rolled past the women's tennis team 9-0 Wednesday afternoon, handing the Crimson Eagles their first shutout loss of the season.
The Crimson Eagles were blanked by the top ranked Griffins - a squad that has manufactured six wins on the year in shutout fashion - dropping PBU's league mark to 3-4. Gwynedd extended their perfect mark within CSAC play, notching their eighth victory of the year following Wednesday's triumph.
Amanda Treacy was the lone Crimson Eagle to keep her match within striking distance as the junior fell 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) in the fifth singles spot.
Currently a spot out of the sixth and final postseason spot, PBU will most likely need to pick up wins during their final two regular season matches to vie for tournament contention.
The Crimson Eagles will host their final home contest of the year on Thursday, taking on Rosemont College at 3:00 pm.
