Tennis Team Collects First Ever CSAC Win

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA
- It was cause for celebration Thursday in Langhorne as the women's tennis team managed their first win ever within Colonial States Athletic Conference play, edging the College of Notre Dame, 6-3.

After going winless in their inaugural campaign within the conference a year ago, the Crimson Eagles finally cracked the W column Thursday during a match that simultaneously gave PBU more wins in the current season than in the previous two years combined.

Although by no means a rollover victory, the Crimson Eagles' monumental win came behind a collective effort in which all six players tallied at least a one triumph on the afternoon, whether it be in singles or doubles play.

Katelynn Wilson once again produced at the top spot, downing Miku White 7-5, 6-3 in singles action. Jocelyn Palmer would also manufacture a 6-0, 6-4 triumph in the third spot, and Brealyn Stillmen and Rachel Nelson would compile wins in the fifth and sixth spots behind 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 3-2 efforts, respectively.

In doubles play, Palmer and Stafford teamed to grit out an 8-3 victory while the duo of Tara Munro and Meghan Whittington proved too much in an 8-2 triumph.

The Crimson Eagles move to 3-4 on the year with a 1-3 record in conference play while the College of Notre Dame falls to 1-5 on the year (0-4 CSAC).

The tennis team will return to the court on Saturday when the group heads to Scranton to take on Marywood University. Game time is 1:00 pm.
