Reigning Champs Coast in 9-0 Win

LANGHORNE, PA - The defending CSAC champs proved why they were once again picked to finish tops during the 2009 campaign Monday afternoon, as Gwynedd-Mercy College rolled past the Crimson Eagles 9-0.

The Griffins produced their fifth straight shutout conference win of the year in the triumph while handing PBU what equates to their worst loss of the season.

After getting wiped out by scores of 8-1, 8-2, and 8-1 in doubles action, Jocelyn Palmer kept things relatively close in the third spot during singles play, falling 7-5, 6-1 to Griffin Chelsea Donde. Brealyn Stillman also put up a fight in the sixth singles spot but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-1 to Sarah Tefft.

After kicking off the year 2-1, the Crimson Eagles have dropped three straight to fall to 2-4 on the season. Gwynedd-Mercy improves to 7-1 on the year including a perfect 5-0 mark in conference action.

The Crimson Eagles will host the College of Notre Dame on Thursday during PBU's fourth straight CSAC outing. Match time is slated for 3:30 pm.
