PHOENIXVILLE, PA - The volleyball team came out unscathed Thursday evening during an East Regional tri-match featuring Valley Forge Cristian College and Lancaster Bible College.
The Crimson Eagles defeated Lancaster Bible in the opening match of the night by scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-22. PBU blasted 40 kills while limiting the Chargers to just 14 on the night. PBU also enjoyed their second greatest hitting clip of the season, pounding out a .225 mark.
Betsy Ranck finished with 32 assists and three aces. Carly Plank added 13 kills and five digs and Rachel Calderon posted six kills and 14 stops defensively.
PBU cruised past Valley Forge in their second match, overpowering the Patriots in three games by scores of 25-14, 25-11, 25-13 to give the Crimson Eagles their fourth straight win. The visitors held significant advantages in nearly every statistical category, including kills (31-5), total attacks (95-38), aces (14-1), and assists (31-4)
Lindsay Dager charted 12 kills on a .417 hitting percentage. Ranck tallied 29 assists and two aces, and Khloe Keener chipped in with a career high eight aces and four digs.
The Crimson Eagles move to 7-4 on the year with the pair of wins.
PBU will return to action Friday night when the group heads to Annville, PA to compete in the Lebanon Valley Invitational. The team will take on Misericorida University at 4:00 pm and will play again at 8:00 pm against the City College of New York.
