LANGHORNE, PA - Maybe they should whip out the pink jerseys more often.
The Crimson Eagles cruised to their fifth victory of the season over Trinity University, hitting nearly 60 percent of their shot attempts for the game (a season high) during a 79-56 win Thursday night.
On an evening that PBU donned pink apparel in concordance with the WBCA's "Pink Zone", the host squad rolled to their first win in five outings behind a proficient offensive expedition that saw captains Summer Mullen and Dani Norton combine for 47 points on 17 of 26 shooting throughout the evening.
Although PBU slipped up with 21 turnovers, the Crimson Eagles made up for it on the defensive end, collecting 15 steals for the game, marking their third greatest number of the season. Trinity's 55.0 percent first half shooting was negated by 20 opening period coughups, ulitimately leading to 28 TO's for the Tigers for the game.
The Crimson Eagles saw nine players reach the scoring column on the night, led by Summer Mullen's career high 27 points and nine assists. Dani Norton added 20 points on six triples and Allison Montgomery charted a season high nine points on four of eight shooting from the floor.
The Crimson Eagles will look to carry the momentum into Saturday when the team hosts visiting Baptist Bible College at 2:00 pm.
