DeSales Overpowers Volleyball Squad

DeSales University handed PBU their worst loss of the season Monday evening in non-conference action during a 3-0 sweep of the Crimson Eagles in the Mason Activity Center.

Match scores finished 25-11, 25-12, 25-17.

The Bulldogs overpowered PBU by playing nearly flawless volleyball. Despite both teams ending the evening with 25 total kills apiece, DeSales accumulated just five attacking errors for the night while the Crimson Eagles were shackled with 25 hitting blunders. Additionally, the visitors held a significant edge in service mistakes (12-6).

Junior outside hitter Carly Plank tallied a game high mark of eight kills while providing nine stops defensively. Senior libero Kay Lynn Zeiset added 16 digs and classmate Betsy Ranck put together a 19 assist, seven dig effort.

The volleyball team drops to 11-9 on the year with the loss while DeSales is currently in the midst of a seven match winning streak, sitting at 12-6 overall.

PBU will move into the heart of their CSAC season this Saturday when the group heads to Scranton, PA to play in a tri-match. The Crimson Eagles will take on Marywood University at 10:00 am before squaring off with Keystone at noon and Rosemont at 2:00 pm.
