Volleyball Closes Home Schedule in Shutout Fashion

LANGHORNE, PA - Beginning the conference season with a somewhat pedestrian 3-2 record, the Crimson Eagles have picked things up as of late, pulling out triumphs in five out of six league matches to vault the group into sole possession of third place in the CSAC standings.

The string includes their most recent victory, a 3-0 sweep of Gwynedd-Mercy College Wednesday evening in PBU's final regular season home contest of the year.

The Crimson Eagles limited the Griffins to a -.116 hitting percentage for the match and pumped out 10 service aces en route to a 25-13, 25-16, 25-14 win.

PBU also collected a .261 attack percentage on the night and held a distinct 27-13 edge in total kills on the way to the group's eighth conference win.

On senior night, Betsy Rank posted 24 assists and seven digs while fourth-year teammate Tanya Jendrek added seven stops defensively.  Classmate Kay Lynn Zeiset added nine digs and two aces and Linsay Dager posted seven kills in just 13 attempts.

The volleyball team moves to 16-11 on the year (8-3 CSAC) while Gwynedd-Mercy falls to 4-21 overall (1-6 CSAC).

With their regular season conference schedule complete, the Crimson Eagles will head to St. David's, PA to go up against Eastern University and Widener University in non-conference action on Saturday. Game time begins at 11:00 am against Eastern and will continue later that afternoon at 1:00 pm against the Pride.
