ASTON, PA - The Crimson Eagles collected one win in two attempts Saturday, falling 3-0 to reigning CSAC champ Neumann University early in the morning but bouncing back with a 3-1 victory over Centenary College, their second triumph over the Cyclones this year.
In their opening contest of the morning, the volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Knights, falling by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-17. Neumann pounced the Crimson Eagles by collecting a .304 hitting percentage through the match while holding a 43-26 edge in kills.
Carly Plank led the visitors with nine kills on the offensive end while Kay Lynn Zeiset posted a team high 16 digs. Rachel Calderon added five kills and 10 digs in the loss.
PBU picked things up in their second contest of the day, slipping by Centenary by game scores of 25-12, 20-25, 25-14, 27-25.
The Crimson Eagles tallied nine blocks in the win the win and rolled up a .286 attack percentage. Betsy Ranck contributed 42 assists and Carly Plank added a double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs. Lindsay Dager added 12 kills and Rachel Calderon collected eight spikes and 15 defensive stops.
The Crimson Eagles move to 15-11 on the year with a 7-3 record in the CSAC.
PBU will return to the court on Wednesday when the squad hosts Gwynedd-Mercy College at 7:00 pm in the Mason Activity Center,
