Tennis Team Falls in Closer

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA
- Looking to end the season on a positive note, the women's tennis was unable to upset Keystone College in Langhorne, falling 6-3 in chilly fall weather Wednesday afternoon.

The Crimson Eagles got things rolling early, picking up two quick wins during doubles play to kick things off. The tandem of Katelynn Wilson and Liz Stafford proved to be effective throughout a 9-7 nail-biter at the top doubles spot.

Jocelyn Palmer and Hannah Maddox would add to PBU's early cushion at the second doubles slot, overwhelming Keystone's duo of Kimberly Bergerm and Kim Piorkowski by a margin of 8-3.

With a 2-1 edge heading into singles play, the Crimson Eagles wouldn't end up quite so fortunate during the solos action. Palmer, the only senior on the squad, capped her career with a triumph, finishing as the lone Crimson Eagle to manage a victory. Palmer squeaked out a 6-0, 1-6 (10-8) victory.

With Wednesday's match officially complete, the Crimson Eagles will look to wrap up the year during a make-up outing with Baptist Bible College that was temporarily postponed last Tuesday due to darkness.

PBU currently sits with an overall record of 3-11.
