Freshman Katelynn Wilson won her third straight singles match of the season Saturday afternoon to no avail. The Crimson Eagles fell to Marywood, 8-1.
Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA - Despite rookie Katelynn Wilson's third consecutive victory in singles action, the Crimson Eagles were handed their sixth loss of the year in an 8-1 decision against Marywood University Saturday afternoon.

Wilson’s third straight victory was by no means an easy one. It took the first-year player out of Philadelphia all of three sets to overcome counterpart Ryann Null, as Wilson eventually won in the tiebreaker, 10-4. The 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 victory at the number one spot marks her third consecutive win in extended sets.

Unfortunately, things didn’t quite go the same way for the rest of the squad.

Marywood swept all three doubles contests by similar scores of 8-0 and for the most part held the Crimson Eagles scoreless in singles play minus Wilson. The loss marks PBU’s third conference defeat of the season, dropping their overall record to 0-6.

The triumph gives the Pacers a 3-1 record in CSAC action this year, good enough to place the visitors in third place in the conference.

The Crimson Eagles will return to the court next Thursday in a meeting with the Gators of the University of Notre Dame. Game time is 4:00 pm.
