Depsite a couple of victories from freshman Katelynn Wilson, head coach Ken Wilson and the Crimson Eagles fell to Baptist Bible on the road Tuesday, 7-2.

Box Score

CLARKS SUMMIT, PA - Tuesday's contest against Baptist Bible College was an encouraging one for the Crimson Eagles, despite the eventual outcome.

Crimson Eagle freshman Katelynn Wilson teamed with Danielle Hirsch to secure an 8-5 victory in doubles play, while Wilson also managed PBU's only victory in singles action, downing Kate Boger in extended sets 6-1, 1-6, 8-1.

The victories mark PBU's first triumphs of the year in either singles or doubles play and also gives Wilson - a freshman who is currently playing in the team’s number one spot - the first two wins of her collegiate career.

Sadly, things weren't so fortunate for PBU elsewhere.

Baptist Bible secured five singles wins and two doubles victories to walk away with a 7-2 triumph. The victory marks the Defenders first of the season.

PBU falls to 0-4 with the loss.

The tennis team will continue play later this week in a meeting against Eastern College on Thursday. PBU will head down to St. Davids, PA to challenge the Eagles at 3:30 pm.
