LANGHORNE, PA - Looking take home the coveted championship trophy during the first ever Chick-fil-A Christmas Classic, the women's basketball team couldn't complete a two-day sweep, falling to Kentucky Christian College 67-42 Saturday afternoon in Langhorne.
The Crimson Eagles struggled to keep a physical Kentucky group off the glass as the Knights managed 19 offensive rebounds including a 45-30 margin in boards overall. PBU was held to just 27 percent shooting for the game, marking the second time in their past three outings that the Crimson Eagles have been limited to sub-30 percent shooting.
Four Kentucky players scored in double figures for the Knights as the top-ranked squad in NCCAA II cruised to their ninth triumph of the season.
Junior Dani Norton paced PBU with 18 points on the night to go with six rebounds while rookie point guard Sara Poole tied a career-high with 11 points on four of eight shooting.
The Crimson Eagles will take over a month break from game action, returning to the court on January 10 to take on Marywood University in their third CSAC match-up of the season. PBU will take on the Pacers in Scranton, PA at 6:00 pm.
