STEVENSON, MD - As it happens in nearly every season for any given team, it can be expected that there's going to be bumps in the road. After winning seven straight matches, the Crimson Eagles came across their second straight "bump" in the road, the latest being a pesky Stevenson squad that - with Saturday’s Victory - gives the Mustangs their second win over PBU this year.
Not that Stevenson is any slouch. The Mustangs won their first 15 matches to kick off the season an entered Saturday’s contest with an impressive, if not downright scary, 22-6 overall record. Additionally, Stevenson managed a 3-0 victory against the Crimson Eagles back in early September on PBU’s home turf.
So to say the Crimson Eagles had their work cut out for them to enter Saturday’s match would probably be an accurate assessment. Unfortunately, the change of scenery in their most recent meeting with Stevenson apparently wasn’t much of a help as the Mustangs once again managed another sweep, downing the visitors this time by scores of 25-21, 26-24, 25-18.
Following the setback, the Crimson Eagles got back on track with back-to-back wins against Abright College and Ursinus College, both by scores of 3-0.
PBU improves to 21-9 overall on the year following Saturday's events.
The Crimson Eagles will return to the court on Tuesday to take on Cabrini College at 7:00 pm in the Mason Activity Center.
