BALTIMORE, MD - PBU's trip to Maryland was unsuccessful Thursday night as the Crimson Eagles were downed by Villa Julie College, 3-1.
Coming off a recent four game winning streak, PBU was unable to register their fifth in a row as the Mustangs overwhelmed PBU in four sets 30-24, 15-30, 30-21, and 30-22. In fact, the Mustangs have currently put together a seven game winning streak of their own en route to their 21st win of the season.
Becky Williams put forth a tremendous effort on the night, ending with 15 kills, 15 digs and three aces. Caitlin Hess added 14 kills and six total blocks, and Betsy Ranck had 39 assists.
The contest marks the second time this season that Villa Julie has defeated the Crimson Eagles, as the Mustangs overcame PBU by a similar score just over one month ago, 3-1. The Crimson Eagles drop to 27-7 in the loss. The volleyball team has two more non-conference games before they complete the end of their regular season.
PBU will host their last tri-match of the year, playing Gwynedd Mercy College and City College of New York on Saturday. The Crimson Eagles will honor seniors Angela Kresge, Natalie Nolt, Meg Jasper, and Becky Williams as it marks the last regular season home contest of their careers. PBU will play at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, respectively.
