Miriam Hartzler will enter her third season at Cairn in 2021-22 after being named the women’s head basketball coach in August 2019. In addition to her coaching responsibilities with the Highlanders, Hartzler also leads the managing and scheduling of the Stillman Complex and game day operations for fall and spring sports.
Coach Hartzler is passionate about using athletics to mentor student-athletes as they pursue winning both on and off the court in the Christian life.
During her playing career at Clarks Summit University in Pennsylvania, Hartzler was a four year NCCAA All-American and was named NCCAA Player of the Year in 2003.
Prior to coming to Cairn, Hartzler spent 15 years coaching and teaching at the high school level at schools in Kansas City, Kansas as well as Piscataway, New Jersey. During that time, she has led programs for basketball and volleyball as well as created a track & field program.
Hartzler is a graduate of Clarks Summit University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Social Studies in 2002 and her Master’s degree in Education – Health, Physical Education, and Coaching in 2004. She resides in Piscataway, New Jersey.
