POTTSTOWN, PA- On an overcast day at Raven's Claw Golf Club the Highlanders competed in the Ursinus Fall Invitational, finishing in 8th place.
After a rough match at the difficult Lebanon Country Club yesterday, the Highlanders were able to shave 11 strokes off of their total in today's match at the Ursinus Fall Invitational. The drop was due in large part to the improved play of
Mark Heater and Nate Borrmann, who shot 110 and 96 respectively.
Connor Eby also participated in his first collegiate match, coming in with a 126. The Highlanders normally solid 1-2 pair of
Ryan Borrmann and
Mike Boucher saw slightly inflated numbers this afternoon. Boucher carded a 90 that was good for another top 30 finish, while Borrmann finished with an 80 to complete the first top ten of his excellent freshman campaign. With the improved play of Heater and Nate Borrmann, and an almost assured bounce back round coming from Boucher and
Ryan Borrmann, the Highlanders can readily anticipate a new season low at the Moravian College Invitational this Thursday. Taking place at the short, playable Southmoore Golf Club, the Highlanders should easily be able to take advantage of the easy conditions.
Cairn has a full slate this fall golf season and will seek to round into form over the latter half, beginning with the Moravian Fall Invitational and carrying on at the Revolutionary Collegiate Golf Classic in mid-October.
