Philadelphia, PA - On this past Tuesday night, the men's volleyball team had the opportunity to serve The Rock Ministries in Philadelphia and get a taste of what they offer to the local community.
The Rock Ministries is an organization that runs out of a church in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia and seeks to teach the local kids jiu jitsu and boxing as well as the gospel of Jesus Christ. To learn more about what The Rock is up to,

The Cairn men's volleyball team was able to serve by bringing Gatorade for the kids, encouraging them during their training, and by cleaning the church facilities after their training ended. The guys were also able to sit in on the devotionals and prayer time that they have every Tuesday.

"It was a great example of how sports can be used to change people's lives for the better," said head coach
Ben Fuller about the night. "These kids are not only getting great Brazilian jiu jitsu and boxing training, but are able to grow spiritually as they hear the message of Jesus and are encouraged and challenged by the mentors at The Rock."
One of the main goals of The Rock Ministries is to help kids and teenagers understand the importance of growing in their spiritual lives as well as physically and mentally. The program appears to be thriving in helping the local community get off the streets and learn about Jesus.
