Methodist took a 1-0 lead at the 15:43 mark on a goal by Chris Murphy. The Monarchs held a 3-0 lead heading into intermission
Cairn was unable to contain the Monarchs offense in the second half as Methodist scored five times in the frame.
The Highlanders will return home on Wednesday to host Moravian College for their home opener at 4 p.m.
