Men's Soccer Drops Opening Game in North Carolina

Fayetteville, N.C.: The Cairn Highlanders Men's Soccer team dropped their season opener 7-0 to N.C. Wesleyan in the opening game of the Army Strong Invitational hosted by Methodist University.

The Bishops got on the board early scoring just twenty four seconds into the game.  Wesleyan added their second tally at the 4:39 mark.  Cairn found themselves in a 4-0 hole heading into the half. Goalkeeper Mark Heater made three saves in the first stanza.

Wesleyan would add three more goals in the second half with Sebastian Wiiala scoring the final two for the Bishops. Freshman Caleb Pancoast recorded two saves for the Highlanders in the second half.

The Highlanders will looks to bounce back tomorrow when they square off against the host Monarchs at 2 p.m.
