Moosic, PA - The Cairn University men's golf team improved on day two of the Colonial States Athletic Championships but slipped to 8th place.
The Highlanders knocked off six strokes to their score from the opening day, improving to a team effort of 385, taking their two-day total to 776. A few other teams made significant improvements as well, but none more so than the Cavaliers from Cabrini College who went from a day one score of 341 to a second day 321. Baptist Bible sat in 8th after the first day with a 392 but took off 18 strokes to jump past Cairn University, with a 374.
Immaculata University took the top prize, with a two-day score of 654. Cabrini's round two score of 321 on Saturday was the best round of the tournament, helping them to leapfrog Centenary College into second place.
Centenary's Steve Kluemper took home the individual prize, shooting a 75 on both days which was the tournament's best.
Alex Mitchell took the lead for the Highlanders with his back-to-back 92's, finishing in 26th. Josiah Buss came three spots further down with a 93 and a 94.
